Jonesco (Preston) Ltd is a leading manufacturer of moulded plastic products, operating in three markets: vehicle, fire and environmental safety. Jonesco is a market leader in several European countries as well as shipping to over 60 countries worldwide. We operate from a 4-acre manufacturing site in Preston, Lancashire and a 3.7-acre distribution site nearby that employs around 155 employees. We also have a subsidiary company in Seclin, south of Lille, France that employs around 17 employees. The Jonesco group has a turnover of around £22m.
Purpose of the job:
· Decanting of the raw materials into the moulding tool as per instructions
· Producing a range of plastic products using a variety of machines in which to mould them
· Following a strict process after the product is cooked. i.e. The use of formers, trimming
· Housekeeping on a regular basis, ensuring the workplace is free from any potential safety risks
· Ensure products meet the company’s quality standards.
· Use of power tools such as drills to assemble and create the products
· Producing various kits to accompany products
· Carry out ad hoc jobs when required
Working pattern/hours:
Sunday – Thursday, 9:45pm – 6:15am
Key Responsibilities:
· Housekeeping on a regular basis, ensuring the workplace is free from any potential safety risks.
· Ensure products meet the company’s quality standards.
· Use of power tools such as drills and other machinery to assemble and create the products.
· Producing various kits to accompany products.
· Weighing out power and delivering it to moulders in a timely manner.
· To abide by the Company Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) policies.
Key skills - Essential:
· Manual handling.
· Ability to handle physical work.
· Ability to do basic maths for Stock counting purposes.
· Awareness and application of health and safety working regulations.
· Ability to work in an environment where temperature can exceed the average.
Qualifications and Certification Required:
· Minimum of 2 GCSE or equivalent C and above including Maths and English.
Experience and Knowledge:
Essential:
· Ability to use hand tools
· Working in a manual role
Desirable:
· Fork lift truck experience
· Working within an ISO9000 and IS14001 environment
· Worked in a plastics industry
