Fire Cloak™ now supports Everest Fire and Rescue, a volunteer fire service based in Kathmandu, Nepal, with EV fire containment equipment and deployment training.
Everest Fire and Rescue was officially inaugurated by the Pasang Lhamu Regional Parliament in 2023. The service supports local communities through fire prevention activity and frontline firefighting response.
Matt Butcher, Sales & Marketing Manager for Fire Cloak™ stated:
“Everest Fire and Rescue are supported by Scottish Fire and Rescue – we were proud to work with the team there on this project.
A team of volunteers from the UK visited Kathmandu recently and helped to train members of the Everest Fire Team. Part of the training involved expert insight and guidance into the handling of EV fires with a focus on lithium-ion battery hazards and suppression techniques as well as electrical fire risks and mitigation.
The Everest Fire team works in and around the foothills of the Himalayas, particularly Mount Everest, so this is a very exciting milestone for the Fire Cloak™. It underlines just what an important collaboration this is in so many ways. Not only are we supporting enhanced fire EV safety for the people of Nepal and potentially people climbing Mount Everest, but we can also now truthfully say that the Fire Cloak™ is ‘On top of the World!’ in more ways than one!”
